RD&I and Low Carbon Solutions Theatre

Research, Development, Innovation and Low Carbon Solutions Theatre

Location: Oceania VIII, Windsor Oceanico Level 2

Fee: Included with registration

Description:

Brazil’s Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) clause, included in oil and natural gas E&P contracts, requires companies to make investments equivalent to 1% of their gross revenue in research, development and innovation (RD&I) activities.

As oil and gas companies increase commitments to mitigate the impact of their operations on the environment and to diversify their business plans in the context of the energy transition, they allocate increased amounts of RD&I funds to projects focused on renewable energies and decarbonization technologies.

The Research, Development and Low Carbon Solutions Theatre at AAPG ICE Rio highlights projects that have benefited from RD&I clause and provides a platform to discuss the transformative impact of emerging technologies, collaborative strategies, and agile methodologies on the evolution of E&P practices and decarbonization in the oil and gas sector.

Panel discussions highlighting case studies and initiatives that embed sustainability into operations, balancing environmental responsibility with economic viability.

Each session includes brief presentations and interactive discussions with industry leaders representing  operators, service companies and research institutions.

The RD&I and Low Carbon Solutions Theater is sponsored by Saudi Aramco.
