Reserves, Resources and CO2 Storage Certification

The course presents the updated 2018 SPE Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS), including an in-depth review of the framework, classification and categorization of volumes. The PRMS is an industry standard approach to classifying petroleum resources used by portfolio managers to support their evaluations and decisions. Participants will gain a solid understanding of this valuable resources management tool.

Conjugate Margin of the South Atlantic Austral segment: from deep offshore Namibian discoveries to Pelotas Basin new perspectives

After recent hydrocarbon discoveries in the deep offshore of the Orange Basin (Venus, Graff, Mopane) off the coast of Namibia, the Austral segment of the South Atlantic has become a focal point for attention and discussion within the oil industry. These discoveries have demonstrated the ability of an Aptian-aged (?) source rock to generate hydrocarbons interbedded or closely associated with siliciclastic turbidites, in a regional context recognized as a magma-rich margin. The key question arising from these discoveries is how the new knowledge gained from Namibia's offshore can enhance hydrocarbon predictions for various sedimentary basins in the southern segment. In this context, the distal region of the Pelotas Basin (Brazil and Uruguay) stands out as the next oil frontier to be explored in this segment of the South Atlantic.

Pre-Salt Rocks Offshore Brazil : A Core-Workshop from Three Super-Giants (Buzios, Tupi and Mero Fields)

The lacustrine rocks of the Pre-Salt offshore Santos basin in Brazil belong to two formations deposited during the Cretaceous period. The basal unit, the Itapema Formation, consists primarily of bioclastic lacustrine deposits composed of bivalve rudstones and form important reservoirs mainly in Buzios and Mero fields.
