Technical Program

Program Overview

ICE Rio features a robust, multidisciplinary program with oral and poster technical sessions organized along the following themes:

  • Basins and Petroleum Systems
  • Stratigraphy and Sedimentology
  • Structural Geology, Tectonics and Geomechanics
  • Onshore Exploration and Production
  • Geophysics
  • Unconventional Resources
  • Geoscience Applications for CCUS, Hydrogen and Geothermal Energy
  • Critical Minerals for Energy Diversification
  • Geodata Science and Artificial Intelligence

In addition to the technical program, ICE Rio includes the following business development sessions:

  • NOC Forum, hosted by the Petrobras President and featuring participation senior executives from the region’s national energy companies
  • IOC Forum, chaired by General Chair Sylvia Anjos and the AAPG President, including presentations and discussion with senior vice presidents from international operators
  • Regulator Forum, hosted by the ANP General Director, who will be joined by presidents of regulatory agencies
  • Special Country Sessions, highlighting industry trends and investment opportunities in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Mexico, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, and Africa

ICE Rio 2025 also features Special Sessions dedicated to Sustainable Development in Energy, the Role of Diverse Leadership Teams; luncheon sessions highlighting the energy transition and solutions for energy poverty; as well as networking and professional development activities for students and young professionals.

The ICE agenda also includes activities designed to facilitate interaction between NOCs, Regulatory Agencies and Ministries and to promote participating countries’ investment opportunities and decarbonization strategies across the globe.

The International Pavilion showcases global energy opportunities in hydrocarbons and renewable energies through a dedicated area of the exhibition and a Theatre hosting presentations delivered by country representatives.

The Regulatory Agency and Ministry Meeting, hosted by ANP, provides regulatory agency officials from throughout the Americas and West Africa the opportunity to meet privately to enhance regional collaboration and discuss best practices for E&P activities, community and stakeholder relations and energy policy.
