Join us for this ICE Rio special session is organized by the History of Petroleum Geology Committee, whose purpose is to preserve and promote the history and heritage of the evolution of geological concepts and technologies used in the search for oil and gas worldwide and to honor the memory of the men and women who caused this evolution.

Special Session: Energy Security Drill: Bridging Geoscience and Energy

This 90-minute workshop immerses ICE delegates in a fast-paced Energy Security Drill that highlights how geoscientists can leverage subsurface knowledge to achieve national energy security advantages. By confronting real-world supply issues and sustainability constraints, participants will test—and showcase—the geological interventions (exploration, CCS, geothermal, water stewardship, subsurface storage) that keep energy systems affordable, reliable, and low-carbon while not compromising societal or environmental stewardship.
